Christmas is coming

Well, it is some time since I wrote here. I have been continuing to plan an online course in Dreamweaving in between Christmas things. I am writing to everyone who took part in the last course in Cardigan. Unfortunately my printer ran out of ink a few days ago and Amazon are obviously snowed under with Christmas orders and the new ink cartridges haven't arrived. My car has been off the road for over 3 days and I can't get to town to buy some more ...so I have to be patient...which is difficult for me. Several things being held up when I want to get on with them.

Wintry weather

Here we are at the end of November and the snows are upon us...well not really upon us but all around on the high ground. I have been busy doing lots of indoor things.

I haven't had much time to continue with the online version of Dreamweaving.

If you look at the last picture you will see it is dated Sep 8th. I have it up on my door near the computer and I try to look at it every day. The main word in it is 'DISCOVER' so I keep thinking about that and where it will take me in 2011. I keep thinking about you all and wondering how things are progressing for you too.

Moving on...

Having contacted all the group I am a bit disappointed that only a couple of people have got back to me. Oh yes, I know you are all busy...but you did take time out to attend the course and the work goes on if you want it to. Lowri and I have met up and we were wondering how often you look at your collage and where you have put them ? A couple of you have suggested that they would have liked to know more about the course at the beginning. We think this is difficult to spell out as the content and timing are fluid depending on the group. Lowri has said that what she has discovered in the Dreamweaving we have done, is happening slowly for her...I think I would agree with this. This is one more reason to keep in touch and encourage each other to live in their Dreamworld every day for a short time.

After the course

It is now a week after the course ended and I am wondering how everyone is feeling. Lowri and I haven't had a post-course meeting yet but hope to next week. It is half-term and I have had family staying. I am missing the stimulation of meeting up with the group and seeing their work.

End of the Course in Autumn 2010

I was sad to reach the end of the course but happy to see everyone's collages pinned up on the board. It is always more exciting seeing them that way after looking at the pictures on the table for several weeks.It was lovely to see the way the group gelled by the end of the course.All the feedback comments are kind and everyone wants to keep in touch and meet up again informally in the New Year. I will keep writing this Blog and hope that you will post some comments and news from time to time. Thank you to everyone who came and opened their hearts and minds with us.

Getting to the end of the first course

It is a couple of days to the last session. I am hoping that the group members will want to keep in touch when it ends and perhaps add to this Blog. I have really enjoyed demonstrating Dreamweaving and I hope the group will have found it useful.I am publishing pictures of the collages in my Web Album.

The Big Day

It is 24th Sept and the first day of our new Dreamweaving Course. I have been working hard to make sure I have everything ready so that it will run smoothly. We have a good number signed up, not too many, and I hope they will find the course helpful and fun.  Lowri and I found it very useful to have each other to bounce ideas off and to give each other support.

Autumn term

It always feels like a new chapter once September comes. So to start the new chapter Lowri and I are attending to the publicity for the Dreamweaving Course. I have sent out emails and letters and we are taking posters around.We have had one firm booking and several interested parties. I am feeling very excited by the possibility of showing other people a new way ahead. We are halfway along the runthrough course and it is going well.

Latest news

Lowri and I have just had a meeting and we have finalised the Posters (in English and Welsh) We will start taking them round after the Bank Holiday. We are also having a runthrough of the course again so that we can be sure it works OK in its present format.

Monday 12th July

We are feeling very happy about our progress. A week ago we managed to book a venue for our first Dreamweaving course. It is going to take place in a room in the newly re-furbished Guildhall in Cardigan.
We are planning to start on Friday 24th Sept , taking place for 2 hours in the evening. The course will run for 5 weeks.
We have Posters in English and Welsh and I have emailed some contacts to see what the response will be ...nothing as yet.

This is the first entry for my new blog about Dreamweaving. The idea arose from several books I read on Vision Boards and Creative writing. A year ago we created 3 Dreamweaving collages each. We found it fun and helpful, and thought we could offer it to other people. Last year we offered it to 4 people as a day course and it was very well received. The follow-on courses were delayed due to Lowri becoming a grandmother and Pauline breaking her leg.
However the course has now been extended into and evening class lasting 5 weeks as it gives people more time to reflect.
Our Backgrounds
I am Pauline Matthews, and I trained as an Orthoptist (specialising in the eye muscles) and worked in the NHS for many years retiring 3 years ago. Thirteen years ago I completed training as a Counsellor and I now work privately from home. I have understaken many other courses including using images in counselling. My great interest at the moment is in photography.
My friend Lowri Thomas, who is helping me with the Dreamweaving, taught for 30 years. She has a degree in Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy and was the headteacher of Dinas School. Her life took a new direction and she re-trained as a Welsh Translator. She is very creative and has a HND in Fine Art and a BTech in textiles.
